Founder and Director
Growing up in Choma Village of Haryana, Amit Kataria experienced firsthand the inequity in computer education during his school days. Unlike many other young people in his neighborhood, he was lucky enough to finish his higher studies in New Delhi, after which he returned to his native village and realized that the situation had not improved. Despite his walking disability, Amit worked hard to make ROSE a reality, holding on to his strong commitment to help rural youth realize their potential through computer education and the opportunities this education can bring about. Currently, Amit works tirelessly to oversee the day to day operations of the organization and increase ROSE's impacts. In addition to human resources management, strategic planning, and financial management, Amit takes student enquiries, manages partnerships, and much more.
ROSE currently employs 4 teachers, one at each of its branches throughout Gurgaon:
A Chartered Accountant who took a leap into the grassroots development world and social enterprise space, Sandeep Kirpalani has been a mentor to ROSE since 2009. He has worked at India@75, a grassroots development initiative of Confederation of Indian Industry, and is currently working as a catalyst at kanthari, an organization in Trivandrum which trains aspiring social change-makers. Amit (founder and director) met Sandeep in 2009 on the Jagriti Yatra train journey, and the two have worked together over the past six years on various projects and activities at ROSE. Sandeep recently spent a month working intensively at the head office on strategic and human resources planning, and he continues to advise ROSE on legal and accounting matters, act as a sounding board for strategic planning, and assist in hiring processes, among other activities.
